The new website for the Australian Government’s Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) is now operational. Built by Genix Ventures, the website development is part of a broader project to provide the Agency with an integrated platform that manages operations and external stakeholder engagement.
The WGEA is a statutory authority with responsibility to administer the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012 and to assist organisations to achieve equal opportunity for all workforce participants irrespective of gender. The Act requires all non-government and not-for-profit organisations that employ 100 or more staff to report to EOWA annually on their workplace programs for women.
The new website is the first phase in the Agency’s efforts to electronically enable the lifecycle of registration, accreditation, reporting, training, payment processing and stakeholder engagement. Future phases will see the implementation of online learning delivery, events management, automated decision making and business intelligence tools to complement the underlying business process automation framework provided by Genix.
The new website, which adheres to the WCAG 2.0 standards adopted by the Australian Government Information Management Office (AGIMO), was launched after extensive usability and accessibility testing and has received positive reviews from stakeholders and its target audience.
